The 2012 Taranaki Open

Following the success of last years inaugural event, the 2012 NZ Arbor Taranaki Open TCC will take place in King Edward Park, Stratford on Saturday February 4 followed by a climb of Mt Taranaki on Sunday.

King Edward Park is located in the middle of Stratford right next door to the Top Town Holiday Park. Covering 20 acres, King Edward Park is a combination of park, bush and river. And… its climber friendly, dog friendly, family friendly - just about perfect for tree climbing.

The NZ Arbor Taranaki Open will include all the standard TCC events and NZ Arbor Top 20 climber ranking points are available. The competition trees will be different to those used in last years event.

There will be a judge/climber feedback session after the days climbing to help everyone gain a better understanding of the decisions make during the day. This should help climbers wanting to compete in the tree climbing competitions scheduled early in the new year.

The Taranaki Open TCC will be followed by an ascent of Mt Taranaki on Sunday (as a teaser have a look at Matt Glen's Taranaki climb video here) - a weekend not to be missed.

There is a nominal entry fee of $25.00 to cover BBQ costs and the like.
