Kong Duck

The Kong Duck was originally designed as an emergency belay device for use on ropes between 8 and 13mm in diameter. The Duck also works on slings 10 to 15mm wide - this is the only belay device we know of suitable for use on slings. The Kong Duck is a very small unit and can be inserted mid-line to a rope with only one hand. The carabiner is attached through the large hole and the rope (or sling) rests against the sleeve. Tree climbers have adapted the Duck for use as a back-up device on retrievable re-directs. This is a very handy unit for your climbing kit.
