FOR EXPERT USE ONLY The Petzl RIG is predominantly used in treework as a lowerable base-anchor device but it can also be used for work positioning on palms using a single line. The multi-function handle allows the climber to unlock the rope and control descent with one hand on the free end of the rope and you can lock yourself into one position for work. The handle automatically returns to a 'safe' position when released. The rope can be installed without the need to remove the RIG completely from a carabiner. The pivoting cam allows for slack removal when ascending. Becuase there is no 'panic' option the RIG should only be used as a lowerable ground anchor with appropriate ground worker training.
