Designed as a friction cord but many climbers also use 10mm Armor-Prus as a work positioning lanyard. The perfect diameter rope for the Trango Cinch and its very tough; resistant to nicks and almost melt-proof! Armor-Prus is world famous in arborist circles for its ability to resist friction heat generated in speedy descents. The secret formula lies in the unique cover blend of Technora and polyester over a core of lightweight Spectra 900. Donahys Spectra core incorporates a world-first safety feature made up of twin Kevlar strands which, in the unlikely event of cover failure, prevent the core from being cut or melted completely. Armor-Prus has a very low stretch and is relatively easy to splice (technically speaking Armor-Prus is a Class II cord but you can use a modified Class I splice if you know what you're doing). Technora is rated 234°C higher than standard polyester. Approved for use in International Tree Climbing Competitions.
