Specifications
The Edelrid Roka-e is a little different as far as cambium savers go. Part ring-based and part pulley-based the Roka-e has small pulley sheaves incorporated in the steel 'rings'. The smooth action of the 'pulleys' provide just the right amount of friction particularly when ascending. The 'rings' are made of a forged steel, so they are very robust. The stitched triple layer webbing is relatively supple which makes it easier to stow on your harness while still providing maximum strength. The large ring end it clearly identified with the red band to help with retrieval. Most of the parts can be replaced so you can expect a working long life out of this piece of kit. If you like the friction in a ring-based saver but want to take advantage of the pulley for descending then the Roka-e is a good choice for you.
