Useful for making a retrievable anchor system when combined with the gated version. Equalizing thimbles have been around for years but DMM and the Treemagineers have taken them to a whole new level in design and functionality. Investment cast from 14-4PH stainless steel for strength and durability and compatible with wire or textile ropes - as used in conjunction with the Ocean Vectran loop on the CELanyard. The DMM Equalizing Thimble improves the rope bend ratio and protects it against abrasion. The central hole on the thimble is large enough to accommodate the barrel of most tree climbing carabiners allowing full rotation. Textile ropes run effortlessly through the stainless sleeve to ensure equalizing of the load. Minimum breaking strength is depend on the rope being used but DMM tests produced 35kN for the 6mm thimble and 40kN for the large 8mm version with only minor surface abrasion.
