The NZ Arboricultural Association is the national body representing professional and non-professional people involved in New Zealand tree care. The NZAA is the 32nd Chapter of the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) providing Certification for Arborist, Tree Worker and Municipal Tree Specialists. Telford Rural Polytechnic
offer training and diplomas in agriculture, equine, forestry and arboriculture. The Telford Certificate in Arboriculture is a short course designed for those wishing to enter the arb industry. Telford is located in Balclutha, Otago.

is based in the Hamilton Gardens and offers a Diploma in Arboriculture (Level 6) which combines theoretical classroom work with practical hands-on learning. This is the highest arboricultural qualification available in New Zealand. Wintec has strong relationships in Europe, USA and the UK and their qualification is bench marked against international standards.

Otago Polytechnic
provides a Certificate in Arboriculture (Level 4). The programme teaches a wide range of practical arboricultural skills: pruning, felling, transplanting and maintaining the health of trees. Based in Dunedin.

Northland Tree Climbers Assocaition
is another Facebook-based website. The NTCA was initiated by well known tree climbers Joe Cooper and Troy Alderton. They also started the Agathis Tree Climbers Crisis Fund to offer support to tree climbers in need. The Agathis Fund generates income from the sale of the Agathis Fund lanyard and other fund raising events supported by the New Zealand tree climbing community.
